Luongo will be on the trade block after he wins the cup this year. - VANTEL
This would be odd. I love schneider but why deal the guy who just won you the cup? |

Do you really think you will win the cup after losing to Carolina 3 times this year? |

Yes please. Sign him for anything he wants! All we need to do is improve our offence and we can become a top tier team. We need to bury Gomez, trade Gionta, Gill and Andrei Markov (All for draft picks, prospects) and go all or nothing for Weber/Suter. Maybe take a chance on Semin. But first of all, demote Cunneyworth back to assistant coach, fire Gauthier, hire Patrick Roy to be the GM and then grab Guy Carbonneau back. He was a great coach. Either that, or wait until Tampa fires Guy Boucher this summer. - habsteen26
Seriously?
I'm glad you are not in charge of anything hockey related... |

Given everything that has happened in Montreal this year, I can't believe Carey Price would want to stay. I'd be really interested to see how he'd flourish in a market where there isn't the pressure, nor the daily sideshow circus that is the Montreal Canadiens organization this year.
He has them completely by the short and curlies, and realistically, he can ask for whatever he wants. |

Um, I havent heard a single comment about his play this year to suggest he is under any more pressure than anywhere north of NYC.... |

$7million is way too much for Carey. He is worth maybe $5.5 million if that. There are much better goalies making less than he is |

What happens then? They sign a shorter deal for less money, drag him down the line a couple years and see what happens then? |

I would front load the deal. All the teams do it outside of montreal. If he is a franchise player and they want him long term, front load it as much as you can, just as long as it is legal.
Price can't walk on the team like Rinne could have done with Nashville. |

Agreed he can't walk but he can drag his heels if he's not happy about the deal/direction of team. They will obviously have to find some middle ground.
4 Years with an annual cap hit between $5.75m and $6.25m should do it. |
