Its about time !!

Rip a page out of RW's book... I've seen first hand the results of benchings!!

Carbo needs to get rid of that comfort level

if he benches kovalev now, kovalev will never want to play for the habs again

I agree, and I don't even think I was neccesarily saying I wanted it to happen... moreso just disagreeing with Eric's implication that benching the other two was motivation. I'd have to imagine that even the other players on the team knew it was inevitable.

Its a message sent to them more than to the team. Mainly to Sergei.

the message is to let sergei know that he can and will be demoted if he does not earn his minutes with the big club. sergei obviously got too comfortable and figured he was already an nhl veteran

Defence:

Goaltender:
Price

Wow, it didn't take Carbo long to take away the scoring winger from Koivu that Gainey went out and got for him. I realize D'Agostini played when Tanguay was hurt, but if he's healthy enough, he's a far more lethal option on the #1 line than D'Agostini is, imho.

Give Tanguay a couple of games or even periods to get back into it and make sure he's ready for top minutes...don't need to over do it off the hop.
