Yakupov for Subban will never happen.

Montreal would want Yakupov+ and Edmonton would want Subban+, no chance they meet in the middle.

Personally I don't think Subban is worth a 1st overall pick but even if Edmonton was willing to trade Yakupov for a top line D-man they are much better off targeting someone like Yandle. Offer Yakupov and a couple of prospects you will never miss like Marincin, Musil, or Hartikainen with some picks and you should be able to land Yandle and OEL.

Personally I wouldn't move Yakupov at all unless someone is overpaying (Yakupov, Peckham, 4th for Yandle, OEL or something crazy like that). No need to move a future star like Yakupov that wants to be there and has a chance to be your best player in a fair trade.

Some Oilers fans (read: Cloutier) need to realize that Edmonton isn't going to acquire an impact player in a trade without giving up one of those so-called untouchables. If Tambellini was on a trade call for a serious player and listed off those 6 names as non-starters, the other GM would be hanging up.

If I was Montreal I'd trade Subban straight up for Yakupov, doubt Edmonton would do it though.
