The New York Islanders didn’t manage to pick up a win this week, losing all three of their games. Here’s the weekly recap.
ISLANDERS GO 0-3 THIS WEEK
The New York Islanders picked up just one of a possible six points this week and have now lost four straight games. The Islanders dropped both games against the Washington Capitals, before losing in overtime to Philadelphia last night. They’ll look to stop their losing skid tonight, with a rematch against the Flyers.
ANTHONY BEAUVILLIER INJURED
Forward Anthony Beauvillier was injured during New York’s loss to New Jersey last Sunday, leaving the game and not returning. He missed all three of the Islanders’ games this week as a result and it remains to be seen when he’ll return to the lineup.
WAHLSTROM SCORES FIRST NHL GOAL
Forward Oliver Wahlstrom got into action with the Islanders this week, playing two games and scoring his first NHL goal against the Washington Capitals. The 2018 11th overall pick has now played 11 career NHL games.
As for our poll questions this week, here are the results, along with my thoughts on how they turned out.

Yes: 85% No: 15%
The response here is telling and while the Islanders don’t have a dynamic forward group, they’ve managed very little offense this season. New York has now scored just 16 goals through their first eight games of the year.
QUESTION: Who has been the most disappointing forward so far?

Josh Bailey: 43% Brock Nelson: 22% Anthony Beauvillier: 17% Anders Lee: 9% Someone else: 7% Jordan Eberle: 1%
Even with Anthony Beauvillier in the lineup, New York’s second line has been absolutely invisible. Josh Bailey has a single assist, while Brock Nelson has three points and in Beauvillier’s five games, he had just one assist as well. It’s not surprising to see the majority of votes landing on those three players.
