Kesler a Duck... and just in time
Per Pierre LeBrun of ESPN and confirmed by Eklund: The Ducks send Nick Bonino, Luca Sbisa and a 1st round pick (24th) to Vancouver for Ryan Kesler and a 3rd round pick.
I'm shocked. I really didn't expect the Canucks to trade Kesler to a team where he has a chance to stick it to them six times a season. Not only do I love the idea of Kesler centering the second line, but I'm jacked to see him move to LW on the power play with Getzlaf and Perry.
A few things to note: The Ducks added a net of only $875K to the payroll for this season. They still own the 10th overall pick in tonight's draft. By sending Bonino and Sbisa they moved two replaceable to Vancouver and left the Ducks with many tradeable assets. Looks like Bob Murray is shooting for back to back GM of the Year awards.
