Pat Kane spend last weekend in ChiTown where he and his Blackhawks buds attended the team's annual fan fest. When the final horn sounded on the party in Chicagoland, Kaner boarded the bird back to Buffalo. Unlike most NHL all-stars, Kaner has been moonlighting as a men's league mad man. He's been killing it in men's leagues around Buffalo ever since he was a teenager. On Monday night, #88 and his Piranha's stomped the mud hole of their unwitting opponents.
Kaner scored 5 goals and added 5 saucy helpers. Just another night at the office for the two-time Stanley Cup champ.
So this Kane guy showed up to the @Piranhas3DPuck game last night... he was pretty good pic.twitter.com/vX5WaXTNYS
— Px Hockey League (@PxHockeyLeague) July 22, 2014Kane's liney, Vinny Scarsella did some torching of his own. Cory Conacher's former Canisius linemate scored 7 goals and added 2 assists.
Scarsella's secret to success:
Find the back door when Kaner has the puck. Keep your twig on the ice.
@BarstoolBigCat I know to go backdoor when he has the puck #tapinsallnightlong

Kane's been drawing big crowds at otherwise sparsely attended men's leagues games in metro Buffalo for the past two summers. He's a regular contributor to the FHL (Fattey Hockey League) as well as the Performax Hockey League. In the FHL, Kane and Scarsella also play for team Milli Vanilli alongside Cory Conacher and Zemgus Girgensons.
In two games played, Kane has amassed 6 goal sand 7 assists.
The Piranhas' next game is Wednesday July 30 vs. Peace Frogs.

Human water bug, Tyler Ennis, told Sabres alums Andrew Peters and Roy Ray that he was skating on the ice inside one of his youth hockey rinks in his hometown of Edmonton when he got the call from his agent last week. Tim Murray and the Sabres were offering a ginormous five year, $23 million contract extension. Ennis accepted the offer, then went back to play shinny with his bros.
Great story. Great player.
Ennis scored 21 goals last season and is projected to light the lamp 25-30 times this season and beyond. Over the course of his WHL, AHL, and NHL career, Ennis has overcome the whispers and smack about his size and diminutive stature. Ennis has proven that its nit the size of the dog, its the size of the fight in the dog.
Ennis told the boys on Sabres Hockey Hotline that he is very impressed with the direction that his Sabres are headed in following the UFA signing period and the NHL Draft. At 24, Enzo is a grey beard in the Buffalo organization. He's fully vested in the team's future. When he joined the Sabres as a 19 year old in 2009-10, the team was mature playoff squad that was loaded with veteran leaders such as Mike Grier, Steve Montador, Craig Rivet, Adam Mair, Ryan Miller, Jason Pominville, Thomas Vanek, and Toni Lydman.
Today, Ennis represents that old guard and has been handed the mantle of team leader. Ennis says that he is very much looking forward to meeting new Sabres Brian Gionta and Josh Gorges. He also said that he jazzed about the return of his line mate Matt Moulson.
