Lou Lamoriello has locked up yet another pending free agent, as Cam Janssen has been signed to a contract extension.
Janssen, 30, has inked a one-year, two-way extension with the Devils, according to TVA's Renaud Lavoie.
Personally I didn't see a need to re-sign Janssen, but since he spent 3/4 of last season in the AHL and had his best NHL campaign to date scoring three goals in 24 NHL games, I won't get too up in arms about it.
Enforcers are a dying breed in the NHL, and while I can appreciate Lou Lamoriello's loyalty to players, I think it'd do more harm than good to have him play in New Jersey. I think it's a safe bet to assume he'll spend most - or all - of his time next season playing in Albany.

On a serious note, the NHL draft is a week away and if the Devils stay where they're at with all their picks, they'll make six selections.
New Jersey owns the following picks: 30th, 41st, 71st, 131st, 152nd, and 161st overall.
