There are very few words that can sum up what just happened in St. Paul tonight. The Wild surely should have come away with 2 points. Instead they leave the ice with a mere point after losing in a shootout.
I am not one to call out the coach but this is so irritating to watch how game in and game out the same veterans are trotted out with little to no production.
Jason Pominville and Mikael Granlund have become predictable players passing at every opportunity. They are very easy to defend against, due to their utter lack of confidence. The fact that they are both playing with Zach Parise has him going in that same direction.
No Dumba in OT again, I know they never got to 3 on 3 but he is a creative offensive player. When there is open ice he can be very effective both with his shot and his skill.
The NHL is a young man's game and Arizona is a prime example of this. The Wild need to make changes, it is time to break the mold. Time to give some of the vets a night or two off.
