Having already clinched a playoff spot and looking to close further in on winning the Central Division championship over their remaining games, Lindy Ruff's Dallas Stars (44-21-9) are in Glendale on Thursday night to take on Dave Tippett's Arizona Coyotes (32-34-7). Game time is 9:00 p.m. CDT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.
This is the second of three meetings between the teams this season and the second in Arizona. On February 18, the Coyotes doubled up Dallas by a 6-3 count. The series concludes on March 31 at the American Airlines Center.
The Stars have had a generally strong month of March, going 6-2-2, including three straight wins heading into the game. Dallas has put itself back in the driver's seat to with the Central Division and Western Conference championships. The Stars enter this game coming off a convincing 6-2 road win over the Chicago Blackhawks; the second time this month that Dallas has taken care of business against the defending Stanley Cup champions.
Kris Russell, Mattias Janmark, Jason Demers and Tyler Seguin (out for the rest of the regular season) are unavailable for the Stars. Louis Domingue is expect to get the start in goal for Arizona. The Coyotes, who are 5-4-1 over their last 10 games and are coming off a 4-2 home win over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday, did not practice on Wednesday.
