About a month after signing Czech forward Daniel Pribyl the Calgary Flames have dipped into the international free agent market once again.
Joining the organization this time is goaltender David Rittich.
Hockey goalie David Rittich from Mlada Boleslav signed a one-year contract with the Calgary Flames. Although only two-way, still surprised by the news.
Rittich is a 6'4', 200 pound 23-year-old Czech goaltender and has spent the last two seasons playing in Czech's top hockey league.
In 2014-15 he posted a 3.15 goals against average and an .891 save percentage while appearing in 23 games.
This past season he took a big step forward by all accounts. Rittich appeared in 48 games and posted a respectable 2.50 goals against average and .919 save percentage.
I don't know how much of a future he has with the organization but it can't hurt to take a shot on a young, developing player for added depth in the organization.
