Per Team Canada, Buffalo Sabres center Ryan O'Reilly will replace injured Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin in Team Canada's World Cup squad.
Seguin joins his Dallas teammate Jamie Benn on the injured list for Team Canada and their NHL club team.

Seguin injured his knee when he smashed into the boards while trying to eliminate an icing call. in Friday night's exhibition game versus Team USA.

Nick Kypreos reports that Seguin will likely be out week-to-week. It will likely be 7-10 days off the ice.
O'Reilly scored 21 goals and added 39 assists in 71 games in his first season in Buffalo last season. He was named an NHL All Star for the first time in his NHL career.
O'Reilly's dogged, determined, disciplined style has earned him the reputation as being one of the best 200 foot players in the NHL. I long have considered O'Reilly in the same ilk of power centers as Jonathon Toews, Anze Kopitar and Patrice Bergeron. ROR does it all. He's a 57% faceoff man. He has a great shot. He can skate, create and back check like a Doberman chasing a mailman.
O'Reilly average 21:44 TOI last season.
O'Reilly was a key contributor and leader on both of Team Canada's gold medal winning teams at the last two IIHF World Championships. In 20 games played at the Worlds, O'Reilly has scored 18 points.
This season, O'Reilly will play year one of his hefty seven-year, $52.5 million contract extension that he inked immediately following the 2015 draft day trade that landed ROR and Jamie McGinn in Buffalo in exchange for Mikhail Grigorenko, Nikita Zadorov and J.T. Compher.
Canada will play Russia in it's final exhibition game on Wednesday night. Canada will open the World Cup tourney with a game against the Czechs on Saturday night in Toronto.

I told your two weeks ago when Corey Perry was added to Team Canada as an injury replacement that O'Reilly would be getting a call when the next injury occurred. I definitely support the decision for Canada GM Doug Armstrong to add ROR to replace Seguin rather than Taylor Hall. I like ROR's complete better than I do Hall's.
