The New Jersey Devils have dealt with a lot of adversity of late yet they continue to pile up the points.

Despite losing Adam Henrique and Travis Zajac and Jiri Tlusty, among others, to injury over the last few weeks the Devils have managed to pick up at least a point in six of their last seven and four straight.

Tonight they'll be looking to extend that streak against a Detroit Red Wings team that will be (somewhat) fatigued as they played the Eastern Conference leading Montreal Canadiens last night.

The Red Wings didn't get off to the start they were looking for under new head coach Jeff Blashill but have since righted the ship. They've recorded a point in 12 straight 12 and have won eight games in that span.

Though the Devils have gotten pretty good results of late they haven't played very well. That needs to change if they're going to extend their point streak tonight.

WHAT TO WATCH 1) Joseph Blandisi will make his regular season debut centering Kyle Palmieri and Jiri Tlusty on the 2nd line. He will also play on the top power play. Blandisi had a good camp and made it tough on management to send him back. He's being given a good opportunity to try and do the same this time around.

2) The Red Wings played last night. The Devils did not. They're much more of a skating team than they have been in years past and they should be looking to take advantage of that. Push the pace, move the puck quickly and make it difficult for the Wings to keep up.

3) Cory Schneider has a .920SV% or better in 14 of his last 16 starts. If he can post those type of numbers again tonight the Devils will be in great shape.

The game is at 7 eastern and can be seen on MSG+, FS-Detroit.
