Quick morning update for you all...
As I wrote a few days ago, the Oilers appear to have made some decisions after taking the first third of the season to evaluate where they are and last night, following the Devils win over Carolina, I was told the Devils are one team paying close attention to the Oilers. One source called them the "odds on favorite" to make a move for one of the top guns...Another source confirmed saying he had heard the Devils had "serious" interest in Eberle...
On the Penguins and Eric Staal.
Don't have ANY idea how this deal gets done from a Cap perspective, but I am told "back room" discussions could be happening for Jeremy Rutherford to get Eric Staal. I can only assume the Canes would have to retain a ton of salary and the Penguins would have to move a serious prospect/pick to make this happen.
Also, don't discount the Predators as well. Remember Laviolette won a Stanley Cup with Mr. Staal.
