Coyotes Lose to Islanders, Remain Quiet On Day with Lots of Trades (Coyotes)

Somehow I doubt anyone is clamoring for a Coyotes-centric recap of last nights beat-down at the hands of the Islanders, especially with so many trades going down today, so I'll just hit you with the essential facts:

- For the third time in a row Mike Smith started both games of a back-to-back situation. If the team was trying to make the playoffs, I'd say fine, but Smith has had a bad season and how can it hurt to see what McKenna can do?

- Arcobello scored yet again. Since joining the Coyotes last week he has approximately fifteen goals. A good pick up and an entertaining guy to watch, although it's made exactly zero difference and that's probably a good thing.

- The Coyotes were tied going into the third and then allowed four goals in a row.

- It was their eighth loss in a row! Damn, even the Leafs are jealous!

- I like this point form thing.

- I was at the record store earlier and since they've finally re-issued the Prince catalog, I was able to pick up 1999 for only $5.99. Since that's in Canadian money, they essentially gave it to me.

- What's cool about this record, besides everything, is that Prince, wrote, arranged, produced and played every instrument on the record.

As for those trades that went down, here's what I think:

- Tlusty to Winnipeg great pickup for them at almost no cost.

- Sekara to LA - too much to pay for this dude.

-Winnik to PGH - great trade by both teams. Leafs get assets for a UFA, Pens get a solid player for next to nothing.

- Sekac for Smith-Pelley. I do not understand what the Canadiens are thinking here.

That's all. Have fun. Thanks for reading.
