The Anaheim Ducks played three games last week and two rookies each scored their first NHL goal. Here’s a recap of news and notes from the week.

DUCKS LOSE TWO OF THREE GAMES

The Ducks picked up two of a possible six points last week, losing 8-4 to the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, before splitting a two-game series against the Arizona Coyotes.

DRYSDALE AND ZEGRAS EACH SCORE FIRST NHL GOAL

Jamie Drysdale made his NHL debut against Arizona this week, picking up both a goal and an assist in a 3-2 overtime win. Trevor Zegras also scored his first NHL goal in the same game.

GIBSON PLACED ON INJURED RESERVE

John Gibson was placed on injured reserve and hasn’t played since March 12. Ryan Miller has started the last four games as a result.

RAKELL DRAWING INTEREST

According to TSN's Frank Seravalli, forward Rickard Rakell is drawing interest ahead of the deadline. Seravalli notes that the asking price is quite high.

As for our poll questions, here are the results, along with my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: Should John Gibson be safe from any trade talks?

(Votes: 253)

No: 71% Yes: 29%

This is a difficult question. Gibson is already 27 years old and is locked into a long-term contract at a great price. However, with the Ducks likely still a few years from competing again and Lukas Dostal emerging as a high-end prospect, I think dealing Gibson for the right price should be considered.

QUESTION: Should Jamie Drysdale remain in the NHL for the rest of the season?

(Votes: 133)

Yes: 87% No: 13%

Right now, the Ducks have the option to send Drysdale back to the AHL, should they feel it’s the best move. However, if the OHL season does start back up, Drysdale would either have to stick with the Ducks or head back to Erie. If those are the only options, Drysdale is likely better off sticking with the Ducks, even if it means using him in a smaller role to ensure he adjusts well.
