Last night 3-0 +3.30 Units YTD 90-76 +9.31 Units
Tuesday night brings us 9 games with a few solid match ups. Boston and NYI has two of the top three in the East Division squaring off. NYI has certainly padded their lead with 6 wins over Buffalo, including three over the last four nights.
The Jets are at the Leafs with the top two teams in the North Division battling it out. The Leafs are off two straight losses to the Canucks and return from their Western road trip while the Jets are off two straight games in Montreal.
I am starting a new angle that you will see in Scenario #1. It’s a very small size, but it’s 4-0 this week and there are 4 more spots like this between now and March 18th. I will track it and see how its plays out here for all those that read the column.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are rested, either sitting at home or on the road while their opponent plays the night before. 4-0 in less than a week of tracking it!
Scenario #2 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 46-28!
Scenario #3 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 16-19 when teams play on the road back to back nights.
Scenario #4 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 65-50 in that situation. NYR fit the system tonight.
Quick stat updates - First period totals going over were 3-3 last night and are 173-203 on the season. Road teams were 1-5 last night and are 180-189 on the season. Game totals going over the total were 1-5 last night and are 184-180-4 on the season.
Gamenotes for tonight –
Jets/Leafs – These 2 play 3 straight against each other in Toronto. Leafs won the only head to head meeting this season.
Bruins/NYI – Bruins are only 4-6 in their last 10 and its hard to get a read on the Isles with so many wins over Buffalo during the same stretch. But the Isles have won all 3 head to head meetings this season.
NYR/Pitt – Pens are so terrific at home and have won 4 of 5 head to head meetings this year.
Preds/Canes – Canes have won both meetings 4-2 this year, plus have won 5 in a row.
Sabres/Flyers – Flyers have won 3 of 4 meetings, all three were by a 3-0 score. Sabres have lost 7 in a row.
Panthers/Jackets – Teams split the first two head to head this season. Both teams playing inconsistent hockey of late.
Devils/Caps – Caps have won all 3 meetings this season.
TB/Detroit – Detroit off since March 4th, while TB is playing their 5th in 8 nights on the road. TB played 2 more games since the Wings last game. Might be a tough spot for TB here.
Hawks/Stars – Hawks off a tough 3 games series at home vs. TB. Hawks won both meetings this season 2-1 in OT.
Only 1 system play tonight –
NYR – ML(+130) Feel free to ask any questions in the blog and I always get back to everyone. I will have Twitter and Instagram going shortly. Good luck tonight!
