Kirill Kaprizov is more than a rookie of the year. He is already 24 and he brought huge amounts of excitement to the Wild in a way that few players in Minnesota have. And now he wants $10M plus a year. There are unsubstantiated reports out there that CSKA is willing to give him a one-year, $10M deal....but that is the KHL. and KK loved the NHL and all that😅 comes with that.
I have very little doubt that the Wild don't get this done. It isn't easy to commit to a full 8 years/$80M to a player with 50 NHL games to his credit. A player, by the way, who came up small in his first playoffs..
It feels like there is a 5-year deal to be had here, but we will see...
