We took a bath as they say when it comes to gambling last night. Just when you think you have a team figured out, it blows up in your face which is what happened to us with a few teams. Apologies! I will limit my plays tonight and only go with plays I feel the strongest about, no taking flyers on teams anymore! Overs were 6-4 but favs split at 5-5. We have a 10 game card tonight which doesn't happen often on a Sunday night. Analysis below.
CAR/PITT - 1pm EST - The Pens sat rested while the Canes played a tough home game against the Flyers, pulling it out late in the third period. The Pens lost at home to CAR a few weeks ago 4-3, last week 3-2 as well and you know they will be out for revenge and very rested! The Canes have gone under the total in 5 straight games and 7 of their last 10 games. Huge lean to Pitt -130.
TOR/BUFF - 4pm EST - The Heritage Classic should get a good one as the Leafs and Sabres get an outdoor game! Both teams are playing inconsistent hockey and the Sabres just won in TOR over a week ago 5-1. No way I can back a TOR team -276 as there is far more value in BUFF +228.
MTL/PHI - The Habs are in a tough spot, off a long west coast roadie, came home for one game now back on the road. PHI has played much better over the last 5 games. The Habs have gone over the total in 5 straight games. The Habs beat PHI at home 3-2SO in their only meeting this year. Lean to PHI -145.
WIN/STL - Both of these teams are so hard to figure out lately, inconsistent, and hard to trust. The Jets sat rested while the Blues played in NSH yesterday and have beat STL in 2 of 3 meetings head to head this season. No lean, pass for me, better games on the card.
NSH/MINN - The Wild sat rested yesterday while the Preds lost at home then had to travel to Minny. NSH won the only meeting this year 5-2 way back in October in Minny. The Preds have won 8 of the last 10 games head to head with the Wild. Minny has played 13 of their last 19 games on the road and 8 of their last 11 games on the road, so no wonder this team is struggling. The Wild now start a critical 9 game homestand. Lean to MIN -145.
VEG/CLB - I still don't understand how the Knights are big favs on the road having lost the first 3 games of their east coast roadie. They are one point ahead of DAL for the final playoff spot and the Stars have 3 games in hand so VEG needs this game badly. VEG beat CLB back in November 3-2. Lean to CLB +160.
ANA/NYI - The Ducks are playing their 4th in 6 nights on the road. The Isles sat rested while ANA played in NJ and are finishing their 6 game homestand tonight. Huge lean to NYI -161!
CAL/COL - The Avs sat rested while the Flames played a home game. COL will be looking for revenge after losing last week at home to CAL. Landeskog is out for the Avs, which really hurt COL. Lean to the hottest in the NHL in CAL +140!
TB/VAN - The Canucks are on a 7 game homestand and it's critical for them if they want to stay in the playoff chase. They sat rested last night while TB played in EDM and lost 4-1. This will be TB 5th game in 8 nights on the road, so the Canucks get them in a great spot yet TB is a -161 fav and VAN is a dog +140. Huge lean to VAN +140!
FL/LA - The Panthers start a 7 game road trip and have won 5 in a row. LA is off back-to-back losses to SJ and played last night in SJ while FL sat rested. The Kings had won 8 of 10 games before losing both to SJ and have FL and COL on deck. Lean to LA +140 as a dog at home where they have played some great hockey of late.
