It is when the ice is gone and the temperature is rising that NHL fans dreams are made...However, if you look at the past several summers you could argue they have been a little void of premium talent and while there have been some key moves made by almost every team, there hasn't been a summer chock full of promise like this one.
And teams are getting more creative as well. I usually have a few hundred pages of notes when I start on the Summer Chart, but this year I have over 600 pages...And that was before the chart even launched, and there are still 8 teams in the playoffs...
This summer we have Tavares, Karlsson, Carlson, JvR, Kane, Pacioretty, Nash, and that is just touching the surface....
There are always many questions regarding my Rumor Chart....
What it is...
The Rumor Chart is place I can put my many sources into solid educated guesses regarding where I feel a player could end up playing...I can often include hints in there that can show you some of the stuff that is being discussed behind the scenes in the hockey world....as well as off the record tidbits that I can't write about directly, but I can use in formulating my percentages...I look at the salary cap and put out my opinions...I can also change percentages quickly and keep everything the most up-to-date as possible between blogs..
What it isn't...
It won't replace the rumor blogs or any of my regular content. The stuff I blog about is unfiltered by my opinions, and I really aim to be just a window inside the inner hockey world...I often write rumors I hear that may sound "impossible" given the salary cap...I have said it many times and many times it has come to fruition..."It is hard to apply logic unless you have ALL the factors." I don't see my rumor reporting as a final thought. These are just what I hear. I often DON'T hear what will need to happen to make these moves happen regarding Cap issues, etc..
What the Rumor Chart also is...
