The Toronto Maple Leafs are not as stacked with young prospects as they were five years ago when Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander were just entering the league, but the club still has players in the pipeline that could have an impact in the NHL in the next few seasons.
In The Athletic’s ranking of the top 50 NHL prospects, forward Nick Robertson is ranked 28th.
The winger had decent success in the American Hockey League as a 19-year-old with 16 points (5 goals, 11 assists) in 21 games (especially when you consider that he would not have qualified to play in the league as an underager), but that success did not translate at the NHL level, as he suffered an injury early in the season and had one assist in six games.
Robertson “shoots it like an NHLer, with a shot that comes off his blade hard from a catch-and-release, a curl-and-drag, a set stance and a one-timer position and has among the "faster hands outside the NHL,… but there is concern that the way he plays could test the 5’9… 164 lb. winger’s ability to stay healthy.

Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment announced on Tuesday their policies regarding admission to Raptors and Leafs games starting next month:
To continue to combat the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, MLSE announced that effective mid-September attendees (including employees, event staff and guests) will be required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result to gain access to its arenas, stadium and restaurants. As an organization that hosts more than four million fans per year, at hundreds of events in multiple venues, MLSE is proud to serve as a central gathering place in Toronto and recognizes its responsibility to provide attendees with a safe and secure environment. We believe these health and safety protocols are the key to allowing our communities and businesses to reopen safely, to permit full capacity events, and to protect against further lockdowns. Details and dates on the implementation of these new health and safety protocols will be provided in the coming weeks. We thank all employees, partners and fans for their continued cooperation and efforts to protect our city and each other throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
