The Rangers, aided by the presence of first overall pick, Alexis Lafreniere, will appear on NBC Sports Network four Wednesdays this season and twice on Sundays on NBC. New York faces Philly twice, on March 10 and 24, with matchups against Boston on February 10 and Washington, which likely has lost a little luster with Henrik Lundqvist missing the season, in the final broadcast of the year May 5. On NBC, the Blueshirts face Boston on February 28 and Washington on March 28 during the afternoon and take on the Penguins in prime time on March 7. The full list is below with the schedule kicking off with a triple-header on Opening Night, January 13.

Here is the breakdown by team. No US national TV games for ANA, CGY, NJD, OTT, SJS, VAN, or WPG. How do you not air the Battle of Alberta at least once? I can understand to a certain extent not broadcasting teams who may struggle bit, but four of the teams not on NBC are from Canada. The quartet includes a Winnipeg squad that has one of the best goalies in the league and a Vancouver team that has a US player who may be the Face of their Franchise before too long, if he isn't already.

Brett Berard, taken in the fifth round by New York, continues to impress at the WJC. Berard has been noticeable with his grit and effort, driving play through his relentless forecheck. He has been single-minded in his pursuit of the puck, especially in the dirty areas of the offensive zone. Berard was on the ice for Bobby Brink's opening goal of the game Tuesday, setting up right in front of the net, where his presence has been seen a lot in tourney. He has opened eyes and projects to be a possible future third-line winger if he can continue to develop.
#WJC: USA cracks the Czech wall with a dirty goal from RW Bobby Brink (PHI 2nd/2019), who had been a bit snakebitten. Now the Czechs have to completely change their approach.
