Quick Hits: August 25, 2021
1) On the Flyers official website, I have an article on Travis Sanheim. He said on Monday that all the players could ask for after the disappointment of last season was for general manager Chuck Fletcher to upgrade the roster. Sanheim said that the onus has shifted.
"A lot of changes. A lot of new faces. I think everyone's excited. I think we see a lot of good things in the moves that were made and gets us excited to get back to Philly. I know speaking with the other guys and the potential that we see. Chuck's done his job. Now it's up to us to come together as a group and show him the moves that he made and why he did them [were successful]," Sanheim said.

2) I took my son on a two-day trip this week to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. If you are a Flyers fan and find yourself at the BBHOF, stop by the Women in Baseball exhibit on the second floor. There, you'll find a list of all the women who played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. The list includes the late Doris Shero; the younger sister of Hockey Hall of Fame and Flyers Hall of fame member Fred Shero, the aunt of longtime NHL general manager Ray Shero and the wife of 1950s NHL player Steve Witiuk. The exhibit also includes a Racine Belles uniform that one of her teammates wore. Doris Shero. a Winnipeg native, was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988 as the first Canadian woman to play professional baseball.
