After failing to win in his long-awaited return on Friday night, Carey Price will take on the Minnesota Wild tonight and try to win his first game of the season, which is a tall order against a team that’s firing on all cylinders. The 7 top points getters of the Wild are having a career season, setting personal bests in points and the rookie Matt Boldy has got 34 points in just 40 games.
On top of Price, Jordan Harris, Laurent Dauphin and Mathieu Perreault will be also be back in the line-up. Up front, Jake Evans will be giving way, as he’s dealing with a virus and Joel Armia won’t be there as he’s received permission to leave the team and return to Finland for family reasons. It’s a shame as Armia was playing his best hockey of the season of late, but family as to come first. On the blueline, it’s Corey Schueneman who will sit out to allow Harris to draw-in. Meanwhile, it was announced yesterday that Michael Pezzetta would be sitting out for 2 games after his hit to TJ Oshie’s head and no one can argue with the merits of that suspension. It’s also worth mentioning that Habs prospect Emil Heineman was seen on the ice in Brossard this morning. The youngster is currently recovering from an upper body injury sustained in Sweden and it’s a good sign to see him on the ice.

For those who were hoping for a Price-Fleury duel, forget it, the Wild have already announced that Cam Talbot would be manning the net. Since Fleury was acquired before the trade deadline, the two goalies have been sharing the workload and it is Talbot’s turn to go. Fleury’s last game in Montreal was one of the highlights of this season as the crowd cheered for him as he notched career win number 500 with the Hawks in December.
