A report in Bloomberg says sources familiar with the situations at the Barclay Center are saying the internal decision has been made to not keep the Islanders past the 2018-19 season... This is huge news and could really send a shockwave through the NHL. There are some speculating the Islanders franchise could move to Quebec...but my NHL sources say that will never happen. The NHL is completely committed to keeping the Islanders in NY. I do believe Quebec will be getting franchise of its own however...and soon..
I keep hearing the Islanders could build an arena in Queens and that they have already started part of this process. I would hope so.
The one thing for certain here is the Islanders and their fans deserve better than this.
