We had another big night, that's 3 straight winning nights after 2 losing nights. Prior to that, we had 7 straight winning nights so if you are following along, you should be profiting nicely from this column!
Favs were 9-4 and home teams 8-5 last night. Totals went over at a 7-5-1 clip and the grand salami went over for the 8th straight night, which is quite a trend with all the scoring! First-period totals went under at a 7-5-1 clip last night. We only have a 4 game card tonight but I'm sure we can find a few winners! Analysis below.
VEG/PITT - Vegas is playing their 3rd game in 4 nights on the road and have gone under the total in 9 of 14 east coast road games this year, plus they've gone under the total in 7 of their last 10 games. They play a very tight defensive game lately due to injuries, etc. Vegas has played 6 games since March 1st, whereas Pitt has played 3 games. The Pens have lost 2 in a row to CAR and FL but are very rested! Pitt won at Vegas back in January 5-3. Huge lean to Pitt -145, the line seems very low to me, but no way I can back Vegas off their game in Buffalo in which they sunk a lot of emotional energy into it due to Eiche's return to Buffalo.
MIN/CLB - The Wild are playing their 9th game on the road in their past 13 games. The Jackets got beat down last night by NYI 6-0, but this team responds when they get embarrassed. Minny won in a shootout last night in Detroit, so both teams played. The Jackets have lost 4 in a row but small lean to CLB +175. The Wild have gone over the total in 8 of their last 10 games. Small lean to the over 6.
WIN/NYI - Both teams played last night, each winning as they hope to stay in their respective playoff races. NYI is 2-2 on this 6 game homestand as they continue to be inconsistent all season. The last time they won 2 or 3 games in a row was almost two months in mid-January. NYI won back in WIN 2-0, way back in November. The Jets have looked better lately going 4-2 in their last 6 games. Small lean to WIN +105.
WSH/VAN - The Canucks are hot and for real folks! They are 8-2 in their last 10 games, have won 6 of their last 7 games, and are on a critical 7 game homestand. VAN has gone over the total in 9 straight games and beat the Caps in WSH back in January 4-2! The Caps are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights on the road. Huge lean to VAN -110, both teams opened with the same line!
