On Stamkos Return: What an incredible hockey memory last night. We know he played under 3 minutes and may have re-injured it enough to keep him out the rest of the way, but seriously, the emotional lift that the captain gave his team during those two minutes and forty seconds was the stuff of legends. This is a player these guys obviously love and respect. A captain who a few years back stayed in Tampa and turned away bigger money in more prestigious markets.
As an aside, and this is purely a theory, but does anyone else wonder if Stamkos was re-injured when he was mobbed by his own teammates after his amazing goal? In the highlight below, watch around the 14-second point when he skates away excited after being congratulated, his leg looks like it buckles a bit, his stride is broken, and the expression on his face changes quickly.
