SAN JOSE -- The Sharks should ice the same line-up as Game Five tonight, as they look to stave off elimination.
Once again, Joe Thornton will not play.
In Game Five, the Golden Knights were able to impose their forecheck on the visitors.
"We contributed to them being effective," offered Peter DeBoer. "We got to fix that, turnovers."
As for Vegas, Gerard Gallant will be looking for more of the same from his squad.
The line-up will be a little different though, as William Carrier was injured midway through Game Five. Yesterday, Gallant noted, "It was an innocent play. It was a check behind the net. Nothing serious."
That's an interesting detail from Gallant. On Carrier's last shift in the middle frame, he never went behind the net. In fact, according to the official NHL play-by-play sheet, Carrier was hit only once in Game Five, in the first period.
That's Brent Burns behind the net with his butt. Carrier played just two short shifts after this hit -- three seconds to end the opening frame and his last shift (00:27) with about 11 minutes left to go in the second.
Ryan Reaves will take Carrier's place tonight.

Yesterday, the Golden Knights announced their taxi squad recalls.
Up front, Cody Glass, Keegan Kolesar, Stefan Matteau, Brandon Pirri, Nick Suzuki, and T.J. Tynan will join the team. On the blueline, you'll see Jake Bischoff, Jason Garrison, Nicolas Hague, and Griffin Reinhart. Goaltender Maxime Lagace has already been with the team for a few days.
Tomas Hyka is currently in Denmark, representing the Czech Republic at the World Championships. As for Oscar Dansk, I was told by Wolves GM Wendell Young that Vegas needed just one goalie up to go with Dylan Ferguson, and they chose Lagace. I'll try to find out the organization's reasoning there.
Suzuki, the 13th pick of the 2017 Draft, made his professional debut in the Wolves' last game of the season, a 4-3 triple OT loss.
It wasn't a banner debut by any means -- Suzuki didn't play after the second period of that game.
"He was young and it was a tough game," head coach Rocky Thompson told Sarah Avampato after the contest. "I just decided to shorten the bench for a little bit."
However, Avampato did catch up with Suzuki that morning for a chat about what the Golden Knights wanted him to improve this season and what it was like to play against his brother in the OHL.
I'll post that shortly.
