Get your calendars out and mark down February 29, 2015
Trade deadline will be on February 29 2016 at 3PM this season. #nhl #tvasports

#JagrWatch2016 is on
February 29 will also be the day where the Penguins can watch other teams try and outbid each other for bottom six forwards which should have acquired in the offseason. This will be unlike previous years where the Penguins would mortgage their future trying to shore up their woeful depth up front.
Sabres don't renew Patrick http://t.co/oTPeDJ7zAD

That is in reference to former Penguins General Manager Craig Patrick. Apparently Craig Patrick was brought on as a special advisor during the time period that Pat Lafontaine was hired by the Sabres. Lafontaine famously flamed out after only 3 months on the job. Patrick's contract expired and it was not renewed.
TSN reporting #Pens looking for a record $750 million from sale of the team http://t.co/3uPBx9hKBX

You can see why Mario Lemieux is trying to cash out. That 750M figure would be a record sale for a US based hockey team. You will notice that I put 'would be' in italics because there is no way the team sells for that much. Even with the ability to develop the land by the old Igloo site Pittsburgh just isn't a large enough market to command that kind of price tag.
Also worth mentioning that the 750M asking is assuming that Ron Burkle is selling his shares, something that has not yet been determined.
