More Cuts - 49 Players Remain, Including Strome, Who Scored!!! (Strome)

Went to the Blue Jays game on Tuesday....with the Jays entering the game 3.5 up on the Yankees for their first division title in 25 or so years, the game was for essentially a Playoff game and didn't disappoint.......at least, I think that it didn't.......I was conducting a survey on beer prices for most of the game so its hard to say, but I do recall an intense atmosphere, an extra inning, a replay on an outfield assist and multiple late inning bases loaded situations........but the Yankees won......Then, instead of a nice leisurely day at the office yesterday, I was called into pinch-hit for an absent employee and had to actually go to a job site.....

Still, good game.

As for hockey, the Coyotes - to the surprise of perhaps only my boy Howler - lost both of their opening pre-season games to the Kings.

I'd give you a blow by blow, but neither of us cares. The only important thing is that Dylan Strome scored his first fake NHL goal. I think the salary cap has a terrible trend by giving teams an excuse to put young players in the minors for too long, so I'm not holding my breath, but it'd be nice to see him make the team.

There were some cuts made too........Christian Fishcher was sent back to his OHL team and also six other guys were also cut, and if you have every heard of them then you're either related to them and thus already know they were cut or you desperately need to get a girlfriend.

Thanks official team press releases!

Also, per Sarah McLellan on Twitter: Laurent Dauphin has left the team for personal reasons. For good? No one knows yet. Maybe Sarah does and she isn't telling. I sure don't know. Hope he's OK, since you don't cut yourself for anything good.

What else? Colbert interviewing Trump was fun - I love this new Late Show actually, since it's seems to be more of an actual intelligent show rather than your usual celebrity pandering crap that Leno and Conan give you.

Still, the trump interview was nothing compared to seeing a normally innocuous applause-sign dependent audience boo terrible human Ted Cruz the night before. Good times.

That's all I got.

Except - and this is mostly for Leafs fans - why do people tweet out the play by play of preseason games? Sure, the hardest of the hardcore do actually care to watch a pre-season game, but who in their right mind want's HockeyFnz295 blow-by-blow?

No one wants that any more than they want to see motivational quotes, life affirming messages of acceptance (If you respect yourself, he'll respect you too) or bad pun based jokes.......which, now that I think about it, Twitter is actually pretty horrible.

Thanks for reading.
