I think this series will go 7 regardless but I like the Pittsburgh Penguins to win when all is said and done.
As good as the San Jose Sharks' stars are playing I feel the Penguins still have the best two players in this series. They also have Phil Kessel playing at a Conn Smythe-level, and their depth players continue to get it done at both ends of the ice.
If the Penguins stay out of penalty trouble I think this series is theirs. If not, the Sharks are going to cause a lot of problems.
Ryan Wilson I picked Pittsburgh to win it all before the playoffs started. They have checked off a lot of the important things that go into winning a championship. They are excellent at driving play at even-strength. They are getting contributions from throughout the lineup. Goaltending which has been at times horrific in the past has been a strength for much of the playoff run. In reality the Sharks are almost a carbon copy of the Penguins and this series is a pick'em. There are strong reasons to support either selection. Mine happens to be the Penguins. This series should be fun. Star power, speed, and skill.
James Tanner I think the Penguins are going to take it. The Sharks probably have a better defense, but the Penguins have three forward lines that can just wear teams out, so I think they'll pull it off.
Then again, the Penguins have a defense that is exposable, so the Sharks could also win, and I hope they do.
It'll be a close series, but Penguins in six.
