We've had 6 winning nights in a row and we have a great 9 game card slate tonight! Nashville ruined a perfect night for us! I appreciate all the Twitter IM's and Hockeybuzz IM's. Home teams and games going over the total were 3-1. It was a split with the favs at 2-2. Anaylsis below for tonight.
PITT/TB - TB beat the Pens back in October when Pitt had all their stars out of the lineup. The Pens have been off since Sunday night and have won 2 in a row after losing 3 straight. They got back-to-back road games against two of the best in TB and CAR. TB has won 5 straight, with Detroit at home tomorrow night then a 6 game roadie. Both teams will be up for this one. Small lean to Pitt +139 as a dog and strong lean to the under 6 as both teams will play a playoff style hockey game, much like the NYR/PITT this past Saturday.
OTT/FL - The Sens are 3-7 in their last 10 games and have gone under the total in 7 of their last 10 games. Great home team in FL against a horrible road team in Ottawa. Injury reports say Josh Norris their leading goal scorer will return from injury tonight. FL has been off since Saturday night, having lost their last 3 games and all at home too boot. FL ML -400 is steep, huge lean to the PL -145 as FL wants payback for the 8-2 loss Ottawa handed them earlier in the season.
MIN/PHI - The Wild have lost 4 in a row and 6 of their last 7 games. The Flyers have lost 7 of their last 8 games, so both teams are struggling! There's no way MIN -202 is worth taking for a struggling team plus being on the road for the 6th time in their last 8 games.
CAR/WSH - The Canes had their 5 game win streak snapped the other night by Detroit 4-3 in OT. After this game, CAR heads home for a huge tilt with Pitt. The Caps are struggling, getting no goaltending, and have lost 3 in a row, plus they've lost 6 of their last 9 games. Small lean to CAR -130, the line seems low, could be a public play when the line seems too good to be true. Caps won at CAR 4-2 earlier in the season.
VAN/NYI - The Canucks are off a beat down by NJ the other night 7-2. Vancouver has gone over the total in 6 straight games and 9 of their last 10 games. The Isle's are off a 5 game west coast road trip, they arrived back Wed. AM and now start a 6 game homestand. NYI beat VAN a few weeks ago 6-3. Huge lean to VAN +105.
EDM/CHI - Oilers are playing their 5th game in 8 nights on the road, plus it's their 13th game in 24 days with 8 of those on the road. The fact EDM is only -145 says Vegas is begging for EDM money. They split the first 2 games of the season head to head. Huge lean to CHI +121, the Hawks have lost 12 of their last 15 games and have been off since Sunday so they are a rested bunch!
BOS/VEG - Boston is playing their 5th in 8 nights on the road and had their 5 game winning streak snapped by ANA the other night 4-3 with a late goal. This will be the Bruin's 12th game since the All-Star break and 9 of those have been on the road, compare that with VEG who will be playing their 9th game and Lehner back in goal gives the Knights the edge here. Vegas won in Boston earlier this season 4-1. But with no Stone or Patches in the lineup, VEG is -115 and BOS -105, I usually go with the team that is the -115 fav, especially at home.
MTL/CAL - The Flames have won 14 of their last 16 games and Markstrom has been in goal for all of those games but 2! But this could be a sandwich game for CAL with COL on deck, then EDM so be careful backing the Flames here in this spot. The Habs had their 5 game win streak snapped in WIN the other night and are playing their 3rd game in 5 nights on the road. MTL actually beat CAL back in November on home ice 4-2. CAL -380 or MTL +310, pass for me with better games on the card.
COL/AZ - The Avs have had a horrible travel schedule, here is how it looks. H/A/H/4 A/H/A/H/A and the Avs have Calgary on deck at home. COL then heads back out on the road 3, home for 1 game, then 2more road games. This is something to watch when betting on the Avs games. AZ is playing their 6th straight home game and has been off since Sunday, they beat DAL and VEG on this homestand. The Yotes beat the Avs earlier this month in COL, but lost the other 2 games head to head(5-0/4-3SO). COL -400 or AZ +328, small lean to AZ!
