The IIHF World Hockey Championship quarterfinal games have been played and the semi-finalists are now known. Some of them are surprises, some of them... not really.

Finland 5:4 Sweden

The Swedes were clear favorites in the game between the Scandinavian countries, unfortunately for them - Finns knew how to pull off an upset.

The Czechs continued their steady go in the tournament - this time against Germany. Philip Grubauer and Leon Draisaitl couldn't manage to contain their opponents.

Russians continue perfect at the IIHF World Championships - this time throwing out of the contest talented American team.

Canada was close to the elimination but luckily for them, the tables turned once they tied the game with 0.4 seconds left in the 3rd period.
