The Rumors of a MEGA 1-year offer sheet have surfaced again, and this time it is sounding like more than a few in Toronto are concerned...
The issue here is a 1-year deal makes it incredibly hard for the Leafs to qualify Marner next year since the qualifying offer has to be an increase on the current contract... This also allows the team Marner signs with to then discuss an 8-year deal...essentially it is a way to get nine years out of a contract for Marner.
