The interesting part of the rebuild has been getting to a place where you have rivalries again. The two teams seem to get up for these games and the Blue Jackets looked fast from the puck drop. In the second period they cashed in 4 times capped by an opening goal from Detroit for the period and a power play tally at the end.

A lot of the first period saw big saves from Talbot but in the 2nd Columbus had plenty of speed and creativity with 3 of 4 goals being tip ins with play in tight around the net. The Wings didn’t do enough to clear the crease and were behind the play a few too many times. Still, this is a good build up for Saturday’s game. The Stadium Series has lost a bit of its luster, but a good game is a good game. Hopefully Detroit can come out and make the best of a tough loss. The team is 2-1-1 after the break, but need to take this one to heart. This is the battle for the wild card.
