Rangers look to extend win streak to eight against Stars tonight (Rangers)

The Rangers, fresh off a thrilling 6-5 overtime win against the Islanders at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, take on the Stars at home tonight. Dallas comes in leading the Central Division and New York will need to be on their game right from the start to pick up a victory. Following this game, the Blueshirts stay within the decision starting Thursday, facing the Devils, Flyers and Blue Jackets (2x) the next four games with the first three on the road.

Rangers lineup vs. Stars:

Kreider-Zibanejad-Vesey Panarin-Trocheck-Lafrenière Cuylle-Brodzinski-Kakko Edström-Goodrow-Rempe

Miller-Trouba Lindgren-Fox Gustafsson-Schneider

Shesterkin Quick

Scratches: Jones, Belzile LTIR: Chytil, Wheeler

Two items stand out. First, Robo Warrior, aka Ryan Lindgren, is in the lineup after leaving Sunday’s game in the third period. Alexander Romanov’s stick open a cut in Lindgren’s face, forcing him from the game. He was back at practice today wearing a full face shield and is expected to play.

Second, Igor Shesterkin is back between the pipes. After a rough first 21 or so minutes, with only one of the four goals really his fault, Igor was brilliant the rest of the way. I like the call to go back to Shesterkin and see if he can bulld off his play the last two periods Sunday and 2-0 shut out win over Calgary.
