1) Travis Konecny was selected to Team MacKinnon for the 2024 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto. His teammates: Nate MacKinnon (captain), Cale Makar (alternate), Sidney Crosby, Kirill Kaprizov, Sebastian Aho, Tom Wilson, Elias Lindholm, Oliver Bjorkstrand and goalies Jeremy Swayman and Alexandar Georgiev. Konecny was not selected to participate in any Skills Competition events on Friday. The All-Star Game 3-on-3 tournament itself is on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET (ABC and ESPN+ in the United Stats, SN, CBC and TVAS in Canada).
2)Phantoms Update: The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (17-7-7) will once again play the Hershey Bears (36-7-2) at the PPL Center on Friday night. It's the ninth head-to-head meeting of the season for the longtime rivals. The Phantoms, who are 2-4-2 against Hershey over the first eight games between the teams thus far, lost a 4-2 home decision to the Bears in a nationally televised game on Wednesday.
Game time on Friday evening is 7:05 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live on AHLTV (subscription required). On Saturday, the Phantoms will host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the PPL Center.
3) Flyers Daily for Feb. 2: Special guest Jamie Drysdale joined host Jason Myretetus to discuss the whirwind of activity since he trade to the Flyers. He talks about the adjustments to John Tortorella's system, living on the east coast vs. west coast, and more.
