Finally, Carey Price was back at practice with his teammates this morning, there’s still no timetable for his return though but it still means that he’s entering a new stage of his rehab. Meanwhile, Andrew Hammond was also skating this morning, but he’ll be out for 1 to 2 weeks just like Kale Clague who’ll miss another week. As for Ryan Poehling he’ll be out with an upper-body injury for 1 to 2 weeks. Brendan Gallagher and Tyler Pitlick are both day-to-day and will not play tonight but Jonathan Drouin will finally be back, and Josh Anderson is a game-time decision.
If Anderson is not ready to go, I wonder if the coach might give him a chance to play alongside Caufield and Suzuki just to see how he could link up with those two guys. In his post-game presser, Jonathan Drouin said that he has not had any meeting with Kent Hughes to discuss his future, so if you were hopeful to see him go before the trade deadline, you might as well forget it. He also added that he’s still young, has a lot of good years ahead of him and would like to be part of what’s happening in Montreal right now. Furthermore, the coach said that no player would be held back for asset protection reasons tonight.
Tonight’s opponent at the Bell Centre, the Ottawa Senators are currently 27th in the standings with 49 points in 61 games. The Canadiens have played the same amount of games but only have 41 points to show for them and are still in last place, a single point behind the Kraken but with a game in hand.
