We got a hard-earned point tonight but couldn't get the W.

Despite the loss, this was the best game so far for Anaheim’s forward group. Just about everyone was contributing and the top-six group looked much better than through the first four games of the year. The Ducks were outshooting Colorado pretty badly heading into the third period as well and despite giving up many quality chances, they were getting enough of their own as well.
John Gibson played very well and the goals weren’t his fault. He stopped a penalty shot against one of the best players in the world and made some great saves. Gibson also made up for the bad pass in overtime with the 2-on-0 save, then Jakob Silfverberg was just standing in the slot and did nothing to help out on the wrap-around. That can’t be put on Gibson.
Regardless, this was a good game for the Ducks. Anaheim was actually getting great chances, which we haven’t been seeing a lot of, now it’s a matter of converting. In addition, the Ducks' power play needs some work. That said, it was an exciting game to watch and while it did go the Ducks’ way, there are a lot of positives to take away from it.
