I have a long list of items that we could discuss today, but I'm headed out to enjoy some summer sunshine, so I'll keep this brief for now.
In just one week, the first round of the draft will be complete. We'll know if the Canucks used their sixth pick or if they were able to trade up.
Let's assume for a moment that they do end up picking at six. Who's your man?
TSN's Bob McKenzie will be releasing his draft rankings on Monday, so I'll use Craig Button's final draft ranking as a jumping-off point.
I'm not including the top five names, since I think we'd all agree that the Canucks will get a gift if any of these players falls to the sixth spot. I've included Craig's next 11 players and also added Jake Virtanen, who he's ranked at No. 43 (Virtanen's No. 7 on the ISS rankings).
