The Patrik Berglund Package (Senators)

I think it's somewhat fair to say that the three most likely bidders for Jason Spezza, in no particular order, are Anaheim, Nashville, and St. Louis.

St. Louis has been rumored as a potential landing spot for Jason Spezza for quite some time -- and, perhaps just as long Patrik Berglund has been rumored as part of the package to land his services.

That talk isn't going away anytime soon. AJ Jakubec, who is generally pretty reliable on this sort of stuff, added this on Thursday:

Now, Patrik Berglund strikes me as a much more enticing player than someone like previously-rumored Nick Bonino. He's not going to tear the scoring department apart, but I think he's a nice piece to add in there as the team's second-line center. Whereas Kyle Turris will continue to shoulder the first-line time in a big way, you may see more of a balancing act in ice-time between the second (Berglund) and third (Zibanejad) line. It could work.

The real question, though, is what Bryan Murray can get on top of Patrik Berglund. Remember, Berglund is an RFA in need of a new contract. I don't imagine he'll be paid too much on his next contract, namely because he's not a big-time scorer.

If you're Bryan Murray, what else do you target away from Patrik Berglund?

(And for fun, a lineup guess)
