Survey: What Jets moves happen first? (JEts)

There is still no news. Nothing. It's far too quiet from the Jets organization as we slide into what many say could be a wild two weeks. It got started today with the Hartnell for Umberger deal and from Winnipeg's perspective a lot of fans are happy Umberger is now out of Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff's reach.

However, what is going on?

If you are attuned to social media you may be aware that other, rival team's fans, are noticing that Zach Redmond may be a UFA soon. Those same fans see some upside in a bottom pairing role for the defenseman who played well in the Calder Cup run. With Frolik heading to arbitration that still leaves the following unanswered questions:

RFAs

James Wright Matt Halischuk Keaton Ellerby

and in St. John's

Klingberg O'Dell Hutchinson Chiarot Albert Sol Cormier Pasquale

UFAs

Jokinen Setoguchi Thorburn Pardy

St. John's

Redmond Samsom Gordon

Throw in the bit from Elliotte Friedman in his 30 thoughts about Bogosian's name beginning to float around and you have to wonder how serious things are getting in the Jets world?

Now it's your time to say, or express what happens.

  • Kane Traded
  • Trading 9th overall pick because player Jets wanted is drafted
  • Postma Traded
  • Frolik contract extension
  • Redmond signed
  • Bogosian Traded
  • Redmond Traded
  • RFAs qualified

Something has to give right? So then consider this if one of the above happens how likely is it to positively affect the Jets?

The second poll may seem a bit harsh but consider this. Chevy has fired a coach, catered to his core player group and best assets and now has to still find ways to improve the team. He's running out of options from his 'historical' comfort zones and that means the pressure is greater and the stakes are a bit higher.

It's a long running narrative in this space about the stakes and until a move, or gamble, is made that won't change. What is interesting is what other things won't change too in Winnipeg if another off season comes and goes without meaningful action and risk. Right or wrong, one thing for sure is it won't be the fans patience that doesn't change.
