Report: Snow shopping Boyle's rights (Isles)

In news that will not come to a shock to anyone in Islander Nation it appears that Dan Boyle will not be signing with the New York Islanders. ESPN's Pierre LeBrun is reporting that Islanders' General Manager Garth Snow is looking to trade the rights of Dan Boyle and recoup the pick he used to attain the defenseman.

Boyle was offered a two year preemptive deal that is believed to be around 5.25 million a season, however the veteran dman is believed to want to finish his NHL career playing for a "contender." Honestly if 10.5 million dollars can't get a 38 year old dman to sign then it's time to move on.

Snow needs to aggresively look to move his assets to acquire a dman under contract. I have been told he is aggressively trying to move the fifth pick in next week's entry draft to bring in a dman or a impact forward. Obviously until this happens, Islander fans should remain skeptical. We all know what this team needs, it's up to Islander brass to fill these holes on the lineup.
