The Tampa Bay Lightning released their preseason schedule today. A total of six games, against three different opponents, will be played before the team kicks off the real 2014-15 festivities.
Tampa opens its preseason on home ice at the Tampa Bay Times Forum with a game against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, September 23rd. That will be Lightning fans’ first chance to get a look at the revamped Predators, who hired Peter Laviolette as head coach earlier this offseason.
Following that opener, the Bolts will immediately head to Nashville where they’ll play the Predators at Bridgestone Arena just two days later. From there, there are games versus Dallas and at Dallas on the 26th and 30th respectively.
Finally, the team will close the preseason with yet another home-and-home mini-series against the Florida Panthers. The Bolts will be at the BB&T Center on Thursday, October 2nd and then back at the Forum on Saturday, October 4th.
All in all, it adds up to six preseason games for the Tampa Bay Lightning. This schedule should give both the team's coaches and fans a great opportunity to look at some of the team's many young players. Tampa’s regular season schedule will be released in the very near future.
