TRADE ALERT: Elliot, Scott Sent to Montreal (Scott)

The Coyotes have ended the week in style, sending two players away and engaging in a three way.......trade.

Not an exciting trade, but whatever, with player movement so limited, we'll take what we can get.

The Coyotes send John Scott and Stephan Elliott to the Canadiens in exchange for Mark Tinordi. The Canadiens then sent Stefen to the Predators for someone named Victor Bartley.

Consider most, if not all, of these players have been exposed to waivers recently, it is hardly a trade of note. However, Tinordi has some potential I guess. He's big enough (6'6" 230) and can apparently skate well for a guy of his side. He isn't known to be offensive, but he has put up decent possession stats and has positive career differentials in shots, scoring chances and high-danger scoring chances, so why not?

I would have stuck it out with Gormley, but there are rumours that it was more of a personal decision than a hockey one (and they make sense since it really made no hockey sense to bail on the kid when they did).

As it stands, he only has to beat out three of the worst players in professional hockey for a job on the Coyotes blue line.

All in all, if you take two player you clearly don't want and exchange them for one who's probably better than players you play regularly, then it's a good trade.
