Returning home from a winless California road trip, Lindy Ruff's Dallas Stars (29-13-5) will play host to Todd McLellan's Edmonton Oilers (19-24-5) on Thursday evening. Game time at the American Airlines Center is 7:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.
This is the third and final meeting of the season between the teams. The Stars own a regulation win and an overtime loss in the two games played to date.
The Stars enter this game looking to snap a four-game losing streak (0-3-1) and to improve upon a 1-5-2 record in the month of January, which has seen the team fall from first to second place in the Central Division. Dallas sustained a 3-2 regulation loss in LA on Tuesday. In the meantime, Edmonton is coming off a 6-4 road loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday.
The Oilers are dealing with multiple injuries. Rookie star Connor McDavid (broken clavicle) remains on injured reserve, along with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (hand), Oscar Klefbom (lower body), and Andrew Ference (undisclosed injury). Forward Lauri Korpikoski is day-to-day with a foot injury. For Dallas, defenseman Jordie Benn (lower body) is in IR.
