I'm told from somebody involved the @SanJoseSharks are aggressively shopping Niemi, want to retool starting in net.@NHL @NHLNetwork.

Antii Niemi has lost 4 of his last 5 starts for the San Jose Sharks.
They would be wise to make a trade for Buffalo's Michal Neuvirth today.
The Sharks begun today in 10th place in teh Western Conference standings. They have 68 points and are five points out of the second wild card spot.
The Sharks are fooling themselves if they think that Niemi and Stalock can get them into the playoffs, let alone take them deep into the spring hockey tournament.

TRADE: The #Sabres have acquired a 5th round draft pick in 2016 from @CanadiensMTL for Brian Flynn. #BUFtrade
— Buffalo Sabres (@BuffaloSabres) March 2, 2015
Brian Flynn is a now a Montreal Canadien, per TSN.
The compensation is a 5th round pick.
Flynn is a deft penalty killer and a nice bottom six player.
There you go. Murray on the board. Flynn traded to MTL per @TSNBobMcKenzie

Sabres GM Tim Murray says "it's quiet" on the trade front right now.
That can change in a heartbeat.
Thanks, Sabres.com
Murray has done his homework. Now he waits.
Murray has pending UFAs to trade for assets in Chris Stewart, Michal Neuvirth, Torrey Mitchell, Tyson Strachan, Andre Benoit, and Andrej Meszaros.

Tim Murray still has several teams interested in Stewart.
Calgary, Nashville, Dallas, Montreal, Winnipeg, NY Islanders, Anaheim have shown interest in the hulking winger who possesses speed to burn.
Stewart is a rental who will add immediate value to whichever team that trades for home. Stewart has proven that he can play the heavy, nasty game and takes on all heavyweights. He is the perfect skill/power player that a contending team should want to add on trade deadline day.
Stewart is worth every bit the two second round draft choices that Boston sent to Tampa for Brett Connolly.
I like these teams to land Stewart. They are:
Calgary Nashville Anaheim Montreal

The Anaheim Ducks have a massive decision to make regarding their pending UFA power forward Matt Beleskey.
Trade him or re-sign him to a long term contract extension?
It's NHL trade deadline day and the Ducks may be inclined to trade Belesky away in exchange for valuable players that can play for the Ducks now.
Beleskey hasn't played since February 15 as he is rehabbing from a shoulder injury.
The Belleville Bulls (2006, 4th round) product has shocked the world this season with his career-high 21 goals in 56 games.
Belesky is in a contract year and will be seeking a big raise on his current $1.4 million.
Might the Ducks be interested in a Chris Stewart for Matt Belesky swap?
Belesky would be a perfect fit in Buffalo. He's a young, big, aggressive winger who can hit, fight, and score. What's more, he doesn't have to play straight away for the Sabres. Like Evander Kane, Belelsky can work on a full recovery from his shoulder injury without the pressure of having to play right away.

Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli has acquired forward Brett Connolly from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for the Bruins' natural second round draft pick in 2015 and the Bruins' natural second round draft pick in 2016.
Connolly for two second rounders? WOW! That's a ton of risk incurred by the Bruins for a young pro forward with no playoff experience. Buffalo's ask for Chris Stewart (6'3 235 lbs.) was a second rounder and a prospect. In my opinion, Chiarelli gave up far too much for Connolly, who has been stuck between NHL Tampa and AHL Syracuse for five seasons.
Connolly, 22, possess skill and strength and has played in 134 career NHL games for the Bolts. He has scored 18 goals and 14 assists for 32 points and 72 penalty minutes. In 50 games this season, Connolly has 12 goals, three assists and 38 penalty minutes.
The 6'2'', 181-pound native of Campbell River, BC was drafted by the Lightning in the first round (6th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Steve Yzerman is a desperate NHL GM.
How else do you explain him trading D Radko Gudas, a 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder to Philly for veteran D Braydon Coburn?
In my opinion, the Bolyts just mortgaged the farm for an aging D-man.
Flyers GM Ron Hextall should be charged with grand larceny.
