The San Jose Sharks have one of the best logos in the NHL, if not all of sports. Let's face it, they made the color teal an acceptable and cool color for men to wear. Amirite?
The shark chomping stick logo has undergone a few slight changes throughout the years, but are the Sharks about to ditch the classic look and go in a whole new direction?
The team released new secondary logos this week and seemed to be hinting that more changes were on the horizon.

The new logos are sleek, modern and fierce. They seem to embody the attitude of a team fresh off a franchise first trip to the Stanley Cup Final and a team prepared to be players for many more years to come.
But is that all? The Sharks official twitter later added this...
The new logos will not be appearing on any current #SJSharks jersey, but keep an eye out for new merch coming soon.

While the "Los Tiburones" jersey is cool, it's obviously a themed jersey and part of a giveaway on Oct. 29. (Makes good sense too, since California has a large Hispanic population.) But, the concept could very easily be transformed into an everyday Sharks jersey.
The Sharks have been aggressively re-branding themselves this summer and new jersey appears to be a natural next step. I would not put it past the Sharks' marketing team. After-all, they are the architects of an ingenious Brent Burns Grill giveaway (3/12) and a Chai Jumbo Joe night (1/21).
What do you think of the new design and do you think it means a whole new jersey design is on the horizon?
*** My next installment of the Sharks Memorable Moments will continue this week. Scouts' Honor.
