Twenty-five players will attend Avalanche rookie camp and take part in a three-day tournament with prospects from the Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks.
Josh Anderson, Chris Bigras, Sergei Boikov, J.T. Compher, Mason Geertsen, A.J. Greer, Mikko Rantanen, Spencer Martin and Nikita Zadorov are among the players who will be on the ice Friday at the Family Sports Center in Centennial, Colo.
The Avalanche's first two picks in the 2016 NHL draft -- Tyson Jost and Cameron Morrison -- are taking classes at the University of North Dakota and Notre Dame, respectively.
The Avalanche will play the Sharks on Saturday and the Ducks on Sunday at the Westminster Promenade. The Sharks and Ducks will face off Monday at Westminster while the Avalanche practice at Family Sports.
All practices at Family Sports are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission to the Rookie Showcase tournament also is free and open to the public. Seating at the Westminster Promenade is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Saturday, Sept. 17: Avalanche vs. Sharks at Westminster Promenade, 2 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 18: Avalanche vs. Ducks at Westminster Promenade, 1 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 19: Avalanche on-ice sessions at Family Sports, 9:45 a.m.; Ducks vs. Sharks at Westminster Promenade, 2 p.m.

I'll be away with my family during rookie camp, but I'll be back in time when the Avalanche veterans report for medicals and physical testing Thursday, Sept. 22. Official on-ice sessions start the following day at Family Sports.
The annual Burgundy and White Game will be played Sunday, Sept. 25, at the University of Denver's Magness Arena.
The Avalanche open a six-game preseason schedule Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Minnesota. They play Dallas at the Pepsi Center the next night.
