Yes, it's a question we have asked thousand times before, but every now and again I like to revisit it because these two players, Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby, who are forever linked together, both have serious arcs to their stories.. And now, for the first time in seven years, they are going head to head in the playoffs.
Ovechkin people will argue that his numbers from the goal scoring side of things is unmatched, and the fact that he is putting up numbers in this era is unmatched. The fact that since he has entered the league he has scored almost 200 more goals than his closest competitor in that time frame is just insane. And now he has made his game way more complete.
Crosby people will point to the Championships. Crosby has a Cup already and been to the Finals another time. Crosby has two gold medals in Olympics where Ov's teams struggled and were disappointing. Crosby started off this year looking out-of-sorts and ended this year looking better and more complete than ever.
