The Lamoriellos are done with the Devils.
About six weeks after Lou Lamoriello left the team his son, Chris Lamoriello, has decided to do the same.
Devils GM Ray Shero wanted Chris Lamoriello to take on a different role - a lesser role - within the organization and Lamoriello was obviously not very fond of the idea.

— Tom Gulitti (@TGfireandice) September 4, 2015Chris Lamoriello may not have been the one calling the shots but he's been a member of the Devils organization for a long time and they haven't enjoyed much success - in either New Jersey or Albany - over the last few years. He played a part in that.
With Lou no longer a Devil and long time Director of Scouting David Conte having been let go it seemed like only a matter of time before the team turned the page with Chris, too.
At one point some thought Lou Lamoriello was going to continue on as GM until Chris was ready to take the reigns. Now they're both gone.
This truly is the end of an era in New Jersey.
